Installation, configuration and upgrading of Oracle server software and related products

Patch management and control

Plan growth and changes (Capacity Planning)

Should be responsible to manage client's development, testing and production environments

Be responsible for analysis, design, implementation, project management, and maintenance of the logical and physical databases

Perform general technical troubleshooting and give consultation to development teams

Collaborate with the development team in creating and following a well defined methodology to implement changes to database systems

Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery / DR policies

Perform database tuning and performance monitoring

Perform application tuning and performance monitoring

Report Database issues to higher management

Predicting future Oracle trends for hardware usage and user load

Manage data from multiple sources including internal, external, and 3rd party data

Interface with Oracle Corporation for technical support

Setup and maintain documentation and standards

Skill Details :
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or its equivalent
  • At least 2 years of experience in managing oracle databases
  • Oracle Certified Professional OCP (preferably in 10g)
  • Oracle Real Application Clusters experience with Automatic Storage Management
  • Should be able to monitor System and Database performance and can perform proactive tuning
  • Good understanding of backup and recovery procedures using RMAN
  • UNIX/Linux system management skills
  • Good knowledge and script writing skills on shell/perl/batch
  • Good understanding of Oracle Database related utilities and tools
  • Experience in Microsoft SQL Server Administration 2005/2008 would be plus
  • Outstanding oral and written communications skills
  • Should be a good team player
  • Willing to travel overseas
